Being "Birder Friendly" means that these establishments are committed to catering to the needs of birders, are, or are in the process of, implementing an environmental management plan, support local communities through their procurement, employment and operating protocols, as well as supporting community projects within the area in which they operate.
They have committed to implementing the principles of Responsible Tourism which is in line with BirdLife South Africa's vision for tourism in South Africa.
